Association of breastfeeding mothers

The ABM was founded in 1979 to support breastfeeding mothers and nurture families. We answer calls to the National Breastfeeding Helpline. We provide easily-accessible online training in breastfeeding support for mums, families, health professionals and anyone who works with new families and wants to learn how to support breastfeeding.

Our volunteers offer breastfeeding support online through webchat and in face-to-face settings across the UK. Our training courses are designed and led by lactation consultants and experienced breastfeeding counsellors. We offer an information library of online and offline resources and membership with regular magazine and discounts. Visit the ABM website.

Association of Radical Midwives

We are midwives, student midwives and others committed to improving maternity services both in the UK and Internationally. We strongly believe that all women have the right to a service tailored to their needs and preferences, as well as the right to supportive, kind, and empathic maternity professionals.

We are both a support and a campaigning group; supporting each other to nurture our midwifery vision, and campaigning to see this vision implemented. Whilst a few members work independently in order to give total continuity of care, most members are striving to improve women’s experience within the NHS. B!RTH

B!RTH is a unique project which uses theatre to raise awareness and provoke debate on a global scale around the vast maternal health inequality affecting women worldwide. All of the plays are now available to download and use free as an educational resource, alongside a specially designed toolkit, to create learning, discussion and debate around these vital issues. The purpose of the project is ultimately to provoke debate with those in a position to create change through policy or funding. Visit the website
